The war launched by Azerbaijan and Turkey against the Armenian Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) has been halted through\u00a0a ceasefire agreement<\/a><\/span> brokered by Russia and imposed on Armenia.<\/span><\/p>\n

During their\u00a0indiscriminate shelling<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>of Artsakh, the aggressors \u2013 Azerbaijan, and Turkey, supported by Syrian jihadist forces<\/a> <\/span>\u2013 have committed many war crimes against Armenians. They have\u00a0injured journalists<\/a><\/span> and\u00a0murdered civilians<\/a>.<\/span> They have\u00a0burned villages<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0forests<\/a><\/span>, and\u00a0churches<\/a><\/span>. They have\u00a0tortured<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0beheaded<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Armenians, and executed prisoners.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, Azerbaijani forces used illegal cluster munitions and\u00a0white phosphorus\u00a0<\/a><\/span>against Artsakh. \u201cAzerbaijan has repeatedly used widely banned cluster munitions in residential areas in Nagorno-Karabakh,\u201d according to\u00a0an October 23 report<\/span><\/a>\u00a0by Human Rights Watch (HRW).<\/span><\/p>\n

The false, obsessive belief that Artsakh belongs to Azerbaijan has resulted in an ethnic cleansing against indigenous Armenians from their lands. Attacks against Armenians in the South Caucasus and Europe demonstrate that this war is not only about land. It is about pan-Turkic, expansionist aspirations of Turkey and Azerbaijanas well as their unrelenting, genocidal hatred against Armenians.<\/span><\/p>\n
