RSI Radio Highlights COP29 and the Ethnic Cleansing of Armenians

RSI Radio On Azerbaijan Hosting COP29: Human Rights Violations, Ethnic Cleansing and More

On November 3, 2024, Radiotelevisione Svizzera (RSI) broadcast a radio show discussing the forthcoming COP29 conference in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The show raises serious concerns about Azerbaijan’s history of ethnic cleansing and violations of human rights.

Delegates from Switzerland will also be attending this UN Climate Conference.

It is difficult to talk about climate without mentioning Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing of Armenians carried out a year ago in Nagorno Karabakh, which forcibly displaced more than 100,000 people and enabled the Azeri government to quickly destroy religious and cultural heritage.

RSI discusses this topic with three guests who make their voices heard. Speakers include Joel Veldkamp (Christian Solidarity International); Nicolas Walder (Federal MP of the Green Party); and Sarkis Shahinian (president of the Council of Armenian and Armenophile Associations in Switzerland (CAAS) and co-chair of GSA).
